Even if no other national-related distinction is made, any good tactical game must account for the different ways each of the major belligerents used their artillery (IMHO). Let me try to briefly (for once? :-) describe the differences in which the major combatants performed fire missions with their artillery (as opposed to how they organized and deployed it). Most everything I have to say here is derived directly from a lecture I heard at the Origins gaming convention in San Jose two years ago.
